Exploratory Teaching Groups (ETGs) provide faculty and instructors a collaborative framework to explore and discuss ideas, issues, and challenges in their teaching, with the goal of developing new practices, resources, or other educational interventions. The year-long program is driven by the teaching interests and pedagogical development goals of faculty and instructors, so proposals are welcome on any topic and the format is flexible.

The Pedagogy Fellows Program (PFP) supports UChicago academics in developing, extending, and revising fundamental teaching competencies. Selected faculty and instructors form a cohort of Fellows and engage in a series of practice-oriented workshops organized around peer-to-peer discussions, along with classroom observation and formative feedback provided by both other Fellows and CCTL pedagogy specialists.

The Teaching and Learning Inquiry Program supports faculty and instructors in learning how to conduct scholarly inquiry on their teaching practices and student learning at UChicago, including formulating questions, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing a project for publication or presentation. Over an academic year, participants will receive guidance on conducting educational research through quarterly group meetings, one-on-one consultations with CCTL staff, curated resources, a choice of book, and time with UChicago’s Survey Lab.
