When: Orientation Week, fall quarter
Who: All new graduate teaching assistants.
Teaching@Chicago is designed to orient new teaching assistants to the culture, structure, elements, and practices of teaching at the University of Chicago. This half-day event features plenary sessions and small group discussions on inclusive and student-centered teaching, relevant campus resources, discipline-specific pedagogy, and the undergraduate experience.
All new graduate student instructors, particularly TAs, CAs, Core interns, and Writing interns, are invited to attend, as is anyone else seeking an orientation to teaching in the College. Overall, our goal is to introduce you to the people, resources, key practices, and concepts in teaching and learning that will make your first UChicago teaching experience more successful!
