When: Orientation Week, fall quarter
Who: All new graduate teaching assistants.

Teaching@Chicago is designed to orient new teaching assistants to the culture, structure, elements, and practices of teaching at the University of Chicago. This half-day event features plenary sessions by members of the Chicago Center for Teaching team, as well as other key individuals in the College whose work directly addresses undergraduate education. The event also features small group sessions with faculty representatives from academic departments and discipline-based workshops on effective pedagogy led by CCT Fellows and Teaching Consultants.

All new graduate student instructors are invited to attend, as is anyone else seeking an orientation to teaching in the College. Overall, our goal is to introduce new teachers in the College to the people, resources, and key practices and concepts in teaching and learning that will make their first UChicago teaching experience more successful.
