The Chicago Center for Teaching provides a wide range of services to UChicago graduate student instructors, postdocs, and faculty for professional and pedagogical development.
For Faculty and Departments
We provide confidential consultation services by request to all faculty members, lecturers, and instructional professors. We are also happy to work with departments, divisions, and schools to develop pedagogical programming tailored to the needs and aims of the unit. Services offered include classroom observation, interpreting student evaluations, and guidance on issues such as course and syllabus design, inclusive teaching strategies, grant proposals, and teaching portfolios.
For Graduate Students and Postdocs
Given the challenges of scheduling and completing Individual Teaching Consultations (ITCs) during remote teaching, the CCT will not be able to offer ITCs to graduate students and postdocs during Spring Quarter 2020.
If you are looking for advice and guidance as you teach in Spring 2020, as always, you are welcome and encouraged to make a one-on-one advising appointment via Grad Gargoyle. Please also consult the CCT list of upcoming events. Thank you for your patience as we navigate these uncharted waters together. If you have other questions, please be in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note, for those who were planning on doing an ITC this quarter as part of the requirements for the College Teaching Certificate program, please see the substitute requirement that has been put into place for Spring 2020.
