Welcome to Spring Quarter!

The Chicago Center for Teaching and Learning extends a warm welcome to the UChicago teaching community as we embark on the Spring Quarter.

One event to highlight is our  inaugural Spring Pedagogy Symposium, scheduled for Friday, April 26 from 11:30AM to 2:00PM. We invite you to join us for a thought-provoking keynote address and a guided discussion over lunch featuring Kevin Cokley.

During the keynote address, Dr. Cokley will explore the relationship between discrimination and the imposter phenomenon, particularly among underrepresented students, and how these experiences influence students’ motivation, academic achievements, and overall mental well-being. Following the keynote, a guided lunch discussion will focus on practical applications of imposter phenomenon research in the learning environment. We encourage you to join us, leaving with valuable insights to create classroom spaces where students can cultivate self-confidence, ignite motivation, and confront imposter feelings.

Later in the afternoon, Dr. Cokley will host a separate discussion specifically tailored for undergraduate students at 2:30PM. Please share this flyer with your students.

We look forward to engaging with you as the Spring Quarter unfolds. Should you have any questions or seek further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at teaching@uchicago.edu.
